The Roscommon County Planning Commission firmly endorses the principle of township home rule.  It further is on record in support of coordinated effort between townships having a similar range of current interests shaped by the discrete differences that characterize its special "region" or portion of the County.

The Roscommon County Planning Commission members are appointed by the Roscommon County Commission with consideration of recommendations made by the RCPC.  The officers of the RCPC are annually elected by RCPC members.
